The Parks Mill Rocky Shoals Spider Lily Preserve is located on Stevens Creek east of the village of Plum Branch on SC Highway 283 downstream of the Stevens Creek Bridge.  The Creek has a good flow of water through a series of rocky shoals.  The shoaly creek provides a great habitat for rocky shoals’ spider lily, a rare and beautiful native wildflower.  Our spider lily community is the best medium-sized population in South Carolina.  The shoaly creek also provided water-power energy to power a series of waster-powered mills that provided energy for a grist mill, a sawmill, and a cotton gin.  . The land and the Creek are home to a variety of native trees, shrubs, and wildflowers as well as a variety of birds, mammal, fish, and shellfish species.  â€¨The site is managed by : The South Carolina Native Plant Society, Naturaland Trust  and Upper Savannah Land Trust.
